THE SPEAKERS

Stacey, the author of “How To Be Resilient”, is Australia’s #1 Keynote Speaker and Facilitator on Turning Adversity Into An Asset.  Stacey has used the experience of becoming a quadriplegic at 12 years old and turning her life around to deliver keynote speeches, training, consulting and coaching to organisations including Telstra, SACA, South East Water and CSIRO. She has been featured in national media including ABC, Financial Review and Sydney Morning Herald for her insights on resilience in the workplace.  More recently Stacey has added athletics to her repertoire after 22 years of inactivity to further stretch her comfort zones, becoming the first Australian woman in her classification to compete, and is training to qualify for the 100m at 2016 Rio Paralympics.

John Buchanan

John coached the Australian cricket team coach for 8 years including a world record number of straight Test Matches (16 wins), consecutive One Day International victories (21) and set an unprecedented World Cup record with 2 World Cups and 24 games undefeated. At the time of his retirement, the Australian Cricket Team were the World Cup Champions, Test Cricket Champions and One Day Champions, and also returned the Ashes to Australia. This record of victories makes John the most successful coach in history with a winning record of over 75%.  Since retiring from coaching, John has transferred his uniquely innovative coaching and leadership strategies from the cricket pitch to the corporate arena.

Scott Draper

Scott’s amazing life story, experiences and education, has enabled him to become a leading performance consultant/coach for any business. A successful professional sportsman, Scott is one of the few athletes in history to play at the elite level in two global sports (Tennis and Golf).  Now a transformative leader of individuals and teams, Scott’s passion is helping others to realise their potential and increase the probability of success. His professional journey spanning over two decades immersed in elite sport and high performance coaching, has helped him accumulate ‘best practice’ in performance leadership, cultures, methodologies, and strategy – that are seamlessly transferable to any business.

David Pich

David is AIM Membership’s inaugural CEO, with a background in operational HR sales and marketing, and executive roles in membership focused not-for-profits including ACCA, the St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation and CanTeen.  He has an open management style that leads him to prefer being addressed as “Dave”.  Early in his career, as an operational HR, he worked for Hewlett-Packard in the UK, then at the cutting edge of cultural change and sound leadership practice.  A move into sales and marketing at HP led to a transfer to Australia in 1997; followed by consulting roles for Computer Associates and PricewaterhouseCoopers.  Dave still advocates the benefits of many of these practices with one of his first moves at AIM has been to remove the walls of the Membership operation at AIM HQ where he sits with the team to facilitate open communication, vital in an operation that serves members.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Simple Strategies For Turning Adversity Into An Asset

Things go wrong. It is just a matter of when, not if. How you react to challenges will determine your level of success and achievement. The principles outlined in this book come from first-hand experience in dealing with some of the toughest adversity one could face – a devastating accident at 12 years old left Stacey quadriplegic and needing a wheelchair for mobility for the rest of her life.

There was no textbook theory, fluff or hype that got her to where she is now, just real world, practical, in the trenches principles that got her from rock bottom to succeeding in business, sport and life. In this book these principles have been laid out in the easiest way possible so now you can apply them in your life too.
