30 Things I Could Never Imagined I’d Experience In My 30s

STACEY COPAS FEMALE KEYNOTE SPEAKER SYDNEY

Sitting here today on what is the very last day of my 30s, and after a few weeks of deep reflection, I pulled out the pen and captured 30 things I’ve experienced in my 30s that I could never have imagined experiencing.

Here they are, in no specific order:

  1. Published a book
  2. Left employee land
  3. Started 2 businesses
  4. Guest lectured at university
  5. Got married
  6. Feared for my life
  7. Truly loved myself
  8. Received a grant and mentoring from Layne Beachley
  9. Became a keynote speaker
  10. Journaled every day for over 4 years
  11. Starred in a movie
  12. Did a research project in Cambodia for the Red Cross
  13. Modelled in fashion parades
  14. Volunteered in the Solomon Islands
  15. Became an Ambassador and mentor for Layne Beachley Foundation
  16. Was an ambassador for Holden
  17. Featured in TV campaigns for SBS
  18. Shared stage with Anh Do
  19. Got divorced
  20. Shared stage with Julia Gillard
  21. Gave up drinking
  22. Bought and sold property
  23. Sang with Dallas Frasca at Frankie’s
  24. Had front page stories of newspapers
  25. Been astonished by the people who I have looked up to who I now see as mentors and friends
  26. Interviewed on ABC radio 3 times
  27. Won state titles and competed in 2 national championships in athletics after 22 years of avoiding sport
  28. Worked with dream clients
  29. Moved back to parents’ house
  30. Discovered my purpose

So many things I’ve probably missed, these are the things that flowed in this moment.

My heart is exploding with gratitude at the incredible experiences I’ve had that have led to me becoming the woman I am today.

The woman I never imagined I could have been.

The woman others saw I had the potential to be long before I ever believed it myself.

This is just the beginning though.

I know I’m playing at a fraction of my potential.

I feel a deep moral responsibility to serve through the work I do and the example I set.

My commitment and desire as I move into the next decade in this amazing world is to do more, give more, see more and receive more.

I would love your help to do this and to keep me accountable.

Asking for and receiving help has been one of my greatest challenges to date, that changes now.
